“Educating for the Future of Reference” at ALA Annual in Orlando

A panel of two library science educators and two reference practitioners who hire/train reference staff will discuss which skills are most needed to help patrons in today's information ecosystem. How does what we are teaching match what is required in the marketplace?  What, if any, changes should be made to how library/information science students are being prepared to help patrons find information?  What are the factors influencing how decisions about the ‘reference’ curriculum are made?  Moderator:  RSS/EPDRC Chair, Bryna Coonin.
