SustainRT Conference Call, February 8, 2016
Present: Madeleine Charney, Coordinator; Matthew Bollerman, Secretary; Rebekkah Smith Aldrich, Member at Large; Rene Tanner, Coordinator-Elect; Betsy Evans, Treasurer
Meeting was called to order at 2 pm by Madeleine Charney.
Online Education – Books for Action program went well. Libraries as Community Space Makers is happening on May 19 at 12:15 pm to 12:45.
Environmental Scan needs some assistance with database work. Also thinking of splitting project into smaller pieces.
The newly named Outreach group launched the blog and are looking for content. Hoping to keep a schedule of one new post per week.
Madeleine asked that all working groups push items to SustainRTs working docs/google space.
Governance Working Group – Ashley contacted Paul from conference services to follow up with outcomes of promotions at Midwinter and plans for Annual.
Annual – Plans are set for the Annual Meeting, 3 programs. Lightning Rounds, Sustainable Thinking, and Aruba. In addition, there is the Roundtable meeting and a social with SRRT.
No change to the election or candidates since Midwinter.
Budget needs to conform to the codes outlined by ALA.
Madeleine met with Jody Gray at Midwinter. Jody is forming an advisory group with a representative from each roundtable that answers to her. It was decided that one of our member at large positions would take on that role.
The group discussed a climate change resolution that we were asked to consider endorsing. After a lengthy conversation Madeleine will write an email expressing the groups feelings on this topic at this time.
