Committee Charge


This committee is charged with assisting the current Vice-President with his or her projects and needs during his or her term. This includes assisting with the planning of the Presidential Program for the subsequent year.


History of the Committee


This is an ad-hoc committee appointed by the Vice-President/President Elect.


Major Responsibilities



  • Begin planning the current VP’s President’s Program for the ALA Annual Conference (purely in a brainstorming capacity). Include such elements as program theme, program content, and potential speakers.



  • Assist the VP in his or her stated goals for the term.



  • Take on other tasks or projects as assigned by the VP.


Procedures Used To Accomplish Major Responsibilities



  • Regular email communication and brainstorming among committee members

  • Face-to-face meeting at the Midwinter Meeting if possible

  • Chair (one year appointment, Annual to Annual)

  • Committee members (one year appointment, Annual to Annual)

Major correspondence, documents, etc. will be retained in files by the Chair of the committee. Reports are submitted to the NMRT secretary.

Keep in mind that the NMRT President’s Program committee is charged with coordinating and delivering the Presidential Program for the ALA Annual Meeting.
