SustainRT Conference Call, November 23, 2015

Present: Madeleine Charney, Coordinator; Matthew Bollerman, Secretary; Rebekkah Smith Aldrich, Member at Large; Ashley Jones, Past Coordinator; Eileen Harrington, Member at Large

Meeting was called to order at 11 am by Madeleine Charney.

The minutes from October 17 were reviewed.

The budget was unchanged since the last review.

Governance Working Group – (Ashley, Rebekkah and Matt) – Rebekkah shared the results of two phone conversations. The first with Sari Feldman dealt with her introduction to the roundtable and her interest in joining us for a board meeting in person or via phone conference. The second was with ALA’s Executive Director Keith Michael Fields and his assistant. Mr. Fields reported on the Association’s work to date on sustainability. He sought further information to expand his knowledge on the subject and seems to be engaged in making sure the association is moving forward on the topic. Ashley shared her conversation with Paul from conference services and getting a list of activities for Midwinter that we can help publicize.

Online Education will be hosting libraries as communities in spring. The December meeting is on track with IT and Energy Star for Libraries.

Eileen reported on updating the website with new sustainable resources. She is holding back some project based information in order to feed the new blog.

Annual – Plans are set for the Annual Meeting, Lightning Round and Rebekkah and Matt’s Sustainable Thinking program. A new program about Aruba libraries is being considered as well.

The blog is set up on an ALA server. Details are coming on a post schedule.

The roundtable google account is going to be used to collect documents of its work.

Matthew moved and Rebekkah seconded staggering the open member at large positions for the upcoming election. Five positions will be open: two member at large, treasurer, secretary, and coordinator-elect.

The December 17 virtual member meeting will be an opportunity to publicise the work of the roundtable and encourage membership.

    Meeting adjourned at 12 pm.

    Respectfully submitted, Matthew Bollerman, Secretary
