Please add any files or links to articles and websites on trends and issues you'd like to share with your colleagues in the comments section.

To get us started I've added some content below:

1) The 2010 ALSC environmental scan conducted by our Emerging Leader project team. It might be interesting to see what has changed over five years.  Attached as a file below.

2) ALA's 2015 State of America's Library report can be found here: http://www.ilovelibraries.org/article/2015-state-americas-libraries-repo...

3) Center for Childhood Creativity- launching a new school readiness report to be released this fall: http://www.centerforchildhoodcreativity.org/research-initiatives/

4) Pew Research Center's library-related content: http://www.pewinternet.org/topics/libraries/pages/2/

Hello, all:

The environmental scan conducted by the ALSC Emerging Leader team is now available for your perusal.

It's a massive document (43 MB), which is too large to upload to Connect.  It is available for download here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7sjGEVv7BIzZlRuYTJzZEhUeGM/view

Best,

Aimee

Hello, Board:

The attached Member Needs Assessment Survey Report from I thought this report from June 2015 might also be of interest. It was a Board document last annual, but our newly elected members and those seated at the conclusion of last Annual might not have seen it.

Best,

Aimee

Hello,

Angela Hubbard and Paula Holmes (incoming Board member and current CC grant consultant) culled some comments from the Curiosity Creates grant reports pertaining to the perception of ALSC. We thought this might be of interest to you as part of the upcoming strategic planning discussion. Angela will be bringing paper copies in case anyone is traveling  today.

From Angela, "Here is a document summarizing the information from the CC grant final reports. I’ve including a sampling of responses from the grantees that Paula sent over. I didn’t include those that referred to specific libraries or individuals and I tried to ween the list in size."
