Let the Bidding Begin : Ruminations on the RFP Process from the Vendor, Cooperative, & Library Perspectives

Request For Proposal (RFP) is a process most librarians encounter and something all library service groups and companies have experience with. In this session we will look at the three viewpoints: Academic/University Librarian, Not-For-Profit organization, and Vendor representative. The Academic/University librarian will address both generic and specific items (to his university) that are considered essential in an RFP. The Not-for-profit organization representative will look at both how they respond to RFP as well as what they require in an RFP, having a unique perspective of both sending out and receiving RFPs. The Vendor representative will review how the vendor reviews and responds to RFP, including what is wished for and what is often missing.
