Are you currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in library/information science? Are you considering a career in academic librarianship? Would you like to join a vibrant community of practice with academic-library colleagues from the Greater New York Metropolitan area? If yes, we encourage you to apply for one of four ACRL/NY Symposium Student Scholarships offered by the Greater New York Metropolitan Area Chapter of the Association of College and Research Libraries.

The ACRL/NY Symposium Student Scholarship is a waiver of registration fees for the organization’s upcoming 2014 symposium, “The Academic Librarian in the Open Access Future,” to take place at Baruch College’s Vertical Campus on Friday, December 5, 2014. Featuring speakers, poster sessions, small group discussions and networking opportunities, this year’s event will focus on the ways in which the open access movement impacts academic librarians and the services they provide. Breakfast and lunch at the event are included with the symposium scholarship.

Scholarship recipients are expected to attend the full-day symposium and publish a short article on their impressions of the day in the ACRL/NY newsletter Connections

Application submission deadline: Friday, October 24, 2014
Scholarship recipients will be notified on or before: Monday, November 17, 2014
