Denise Forro reported on behalf of the Conference Program Coordinating Committee Committee.  The Committee had approved the following programs for Annual 2015: 

  • Not Elsewhere Classified:  Different Approaches to Research Emerging Industries (BRASS)
  • Intellectual Property for Technology Startup:  Patents, Trademarks and Copyright (BASS)  [Preconference]
  • Whacking the Weeds in the Library:  Deaccessing Print and Digital Materials in the 21st Century and Beyond (CODES)
  • Literary Tastes (CODES)
  • RUSA History Section Local History Program:  Asian American Records and Local History (History)
  • History Section Field Trip (History) [$1500 requested for budget would reduce the $5000 contingency reserve placeholder by $1500 if used]
  • Library Guides in the Era of Discovery Layers (RSS)
  • The Core:  A year (Or More!) In, How Does this Affect Librarians (RSS)
  • 21st Annual Reference Research Forum (RSS)
  • 2015 RUSA President’s Program [Does not count as one of 10 slots]
  • Mining Labor History Resources in the West (RUSA, AFL-CIO/ALA Joint Committee on Library Services to Labor Groups)
  • Acquisitions, Collection Development, Electronic Resources, and Interlibrary Loan, Oh My! :  Connecting Users to What they Want! (STARS)
  • ILL Data Storm - Practical Assessment (STARS) [Preconference]
  • Genealogical Librarianship Symposium (History) [Free Preconference]

 Two programs have requested funding:  

BRASS - Intellectual Property for Technology Startup:  Patents, Trademarks and Copyright - $500

BRASS - Not Elsewhere Classified:  Different Approaches to Research Emerging Industries - $700

 Doris Anne Sweet motioned to approve the slate of preconferences and programs for 2015.  Jennifer Boettcher seconded.  Preconferences and programs approved.
