ALA Connect User logins are disabled for a temporary "gray-out" period, to prevent new posts while we upgrade into the New Connect. This gray-out period will begin on March 26th, and the new site will be launched on April 25th.

Users can use Search to view public content. Logins will be reinstated and users can create new posts, upload files, etc. post launch.

Restricted Access to Library Materials

While I'm generally supportive of this statement, I would like to see the phrase "labeled for content or" changed to something like "labeled for objectionable/mature content." Some labeling is truly benign, like labeling items as sci-fi or mystery. While I don't believe that ALA would go after anyone for doing simple genre labeling, I could see it having a chilling effect in some libraries.
