ANMIG April Chat: Advocating for Technical Services
When: April 14, 3 p.m. - 4 p.m. ET
Like the greater library world, technical services has undergone many changes in the past 5-10 years, whether it's the continued move from print to digital materials, using new forms of metadata and cataloging rules, or digitization projects. While print materials are still important, the library continues to offer an increasingly large amount of digital material and as more and more of your library's patrons interact with your library online (sometimes even solely online), your role as a technical services librarian is more crucial than ever. But how do you get others outside of the technical services department to see the importance of the work you're doing?
Join us on Monday, April 14 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. EDT to discuss how to advocate for technical services in your library. Please come with your questions and/or success stories and be prepared for an informative session. Jacob Ineichen, ANMIG Student Member Liaison, will be your host along with Erin Boyd, ANMIG Co-Chair. The chat is open to all ALA members. To join the chat: http://connect.ala.org/node/221003.
