 ”Research and Scholarship in African American Studies “
A Forum sponsored by African American Studies Librarians’ Section - ACRL
ALA Annual, Las Vegas, NV

·         Promote current research and scholarship in African American Studies.
·         Actively participate in the preservation of African American history and culture.
·         Collaborate with African American studies scholars in the academy and the
African American community.

This Forum will focus on the contributions of African American scholars and researchers in Librarianship and in the Academy.  This forum will provide opportunities to network, share and discuss recent scholarship; best practices in the management of African American collections and the provision of reference and research assistance.
Please submit a brief summary  (300 word maximum) of your presentation explaining or identifying one of the following areas research. Research should fit into one of the following categories:
1.       Publication on a topic in librarianship
2.      Discussion of research in progress
3.      Archival development and/or collection development

The panel is limited to 4 participants. Please include a brief professional bio. Send proposal to:
