ANMIG February Chat: Volunteering with ALCTS
Whether you have been in the library and information science field for decades or have just started to immerse yourself in it, serving your professional organization is vital in continuing the growth of the field and your career. Through volunteering with organizations like ALCTS you will be able to work alongside colleagues that share the same interest as you, contribute new knowledge to the profession, and solve issues that affect technical services today. With the many ALCTS interest groups and committees that exist, you are bound to find one that interests you. Join us on Wednesday, February 19 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. EDT to discuss how to get started in volunteering for ALCTS, the various types of member groups that exist in the organization, and what type of work does a volunteer do? Please come with your questions and be prepared for an informative session. Heylicken “Hayley” Moreno, ANMIG Member-at-Large, will be your host along with Julie Housknecht, ALCTS ANMIG Secretary. The chat is open to all ALA members. To join the chat: http://connect.ala.org/node/217988
