Here's a tangled SEO question:
So we have the hosted version of ContentDM at my institution and experience has taught us that using the internal custom page tools is problematic, so we use external pages for many of our high profile collections as well as a redirect for the home page.
Here's the URL so you can see what I'm talking about: http://digicol.lib.depaul.edu/
Based on my understanding of SEO, this set up is probably negatively impacting our SEO for the following reasons:
- The redirect from the homepage to another server
- The redirects from certain collection pages to another server
- Certain parts of the site, like header CSS, are pulled from that external server as well
Anybody have thoughts on this?
