    Hello Everyone

I am chair of the ALAplay Planning Committee and would like to extend an invitation to any members interested in helping to be a part of one of the best events at Annual.

Even if you can not make this year's conference in Las Vegas, you can still be a part of helping to pull together an event that brings together and showcases how gaming can have an impact on library programs and services.

If you are not familiar, ALAplay is an annual event that takes place each year that ALA's Annual Conference. At it's heart, it is about play and the people involved. We have an archive of games that are set up, plus volunteers bring their own games and run events. We also have publishers send in game resources or are present themselves at the event.

Last year, Piazo publishing was there demoing a preview of their hit game The Pathfinder Adventure Card Game. Stronghold, Usaopoly and Mayfair Games sent in copies of games to play and give away.

We also have a partnership with the Graphic Novel group, who are a part of the event and feature great giveaways and prizes as well.

Added to that, we invite in leaders and innovators in gaming and libraries to share the work they are doing as well.

It is a night of great fun, learning and awesome prizes.

If you are interested in being a part of the planning committee, please get in touch with me at bmayer@gvboces.org.

    Thanks!
