Work accomplished since last scheduled meeting.*: The committee has continued to evaluate audios for possible inclusion on the 2014 list.
Summarize Committee discussion, any decisions reached, and follow-up action needed, including suggestions for future programs or publications based on the committee’s work.*: We have had some discussion on evaluating audios that are supposed to be paired with books but are not sold as book and audio kits.

ALSC will promote and advance excellent library service for all children.
Objective 1: Increase awareness of the value of excellent library service for all children.
The Committee will create a list of notable recordings to be published after Midwinter 2013.
Goal Area: Collaboration
ALSC will work collaboratively within ALA, the profession, and the wider community to ensure excellent library service for all children.
Objective 2: Increase opportunities to work in coalition with other related groups.
The Committee will work with audiobook producers and musicians to include all eligible titles for consideration. The chair will continue to communicate with the chair of Amazing Audios for Young Adults to share ideas and suggest titles for consideration.
What are your objectives, timetable, and assignments for work to do between now and the next committee/task force meeting?*: Continue to prepare for discussion at Annual.
Listen to nominated audio books and music CDs.
When you communicate electronically, how are you preserving the work of the committee for the next committee?*: Email
What type of research would relate and assist the work of your committee/task force and ultimately the implementation of the ALSC strategic plan?*: Information on the value of listening to audio books as a learning tool would support the committee. Also, studies on the value of music to children would assist the committee.
When you communicate electronically, how are you preserving the work of the committee for the next committee?*: Saving emails in folder to forward to next chair.
