Ecommerce Project Update
As you may recall, ALA released an ecommerce RFP in 2012. However, our vendor selection process was delayed while we worked with stakeholders to develop simpler approaches to membership that would reduce the number of special pricing rules required to implement the new system. These changes should result in a lower-cost implementation for ALA. We have sign-off for these rule changes taking effect for fiscal 2015, which begins on September 1, 2014, and intend to have the new system in place for that deadline.
We have updated the RFP with the new information, and have sent it to the short list of those vendors we had previously determined were our semifinalists. We will keep you informed as the process of selecting a finalist continues.
