Loving and leaving FRBR

The ALCTS FRBR IG invites you to a managed discussion on the effect Functional Requirements of Bibliographic Records (FRBR) has had on cataloging thought and practices. We'll discuss the pros and cons of trying to fit existing bibliographic data into the FRBR model, and the use of FRBR as the organizing structure of Resource Description and Access (RDA). Debra Shapiro, an instructor at University of WI-Madison School of Library & Information Studies, and co-chair of the IG, will present a few short remarks to kick off table discussions. The discussion will be followed by a short business meeting.
