Reminder: February Chat, Navigating a New Library
No matter where you are in your career, transitioning to a new position and workplace can be a daunting experience. This chat will explore some of the ways that you can make the most out of your first few months (or even years) in a new position. Topics to guide our discussion include but are not limited to conquering the library staff culture, avoiding comparisons to previous workplaces, becoming comfortable in your new workplace, and balancing your new responsibilities while still learning what those responsibilities entail. This chat is geared towards academic libraries, but the topics will generally apply to other types of libraries.
Please come with your questions and be prepared for a fun and enlightening chat! Elyssa Sanner, ALCTS New Members Interest Group (ANMIG) Secretary, will be your host along with the assistance of Liz Siler, ALCTS ANMIG Chair. The chat will be on February 27th from 2:00pm – 3:00pm EST and is open to ALA members of all types. To join the chat: http://connect.ala.org/node/200482.
