ALA Midwinter Discussion in Seattle 2013

We had some discussion in advance of the presentation on Mother Goose about the next step toward revising the Guidelines for Services to the Spanish Speaking - http://www.ala.org/rusa/resources/guidelines/guidespanish.  Would like to request interest in serving as Chair for the new year.  We have a candidate who expressed an interest during the discussion on Sunday.  Please let me know and I can forward your name.

Lucia Castillo provided a very informative and interactive lively session on the program used in Canada to assist young families with social skills and engaging with the Spanish Speaking community.  Vancouver is thriving with a variety of culture and languages.  Less than 3% are Spanish Speaking and they all attend the Mother Goose program despite the distance they may need to travel.

A sample of her presentation has been posted on YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZYrUvCWhEY

A participant in the presentation discussed alternative programs in Canada - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdqEUSG0aDk

Final portion were testimonials read by attendees of the presentation - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgJJMbXLOf8

Each video is very brief.
