Seeking IS Committee Feedback for the ILBP Rubic
This message went out to the IS Advisory listserv:
Dear IS Committee Chairs,
Would you please forward this message to the members of your committee so that we may seek feedback from such an informed group of instruction and information literacy professionals?
The Information Literacy Best Practices Committee (ILBP) is seeking feedback on the rubric we are developing to identify programs that exemplify categories of the “Characteristics of Programs of Information Literacy that Illustrate Best Practices” http://www.ala.org/acrl/standards/characteristics.
Attached is the draft rubric the ILBP committee has prepared based on the “Characteristics” document. Please review this rubric as though you were viewing it through the following two perspectives:
- You become a member of the ILBP committee in the future and are using the rubric to determine if programs exemplify a category in the “Characteristics” (e.g. a program can be judged to exemplify one or many categories, but does not need to meet all of them.)
- You are submitting your IL program to the ILBP committee to see if it exemplifies one or more of the categories in the “Characteristics”
We welcome your feedback so that we can develop a rubric that works for the committee’s process moving forward and for those that will be submitting their programs for review. If you could please send your feedback to me by December 15, it would be greatly appreciated.
