Warning message

The launch of the new ALA Connect, scheduled for April 25, 2018, has been delayed due to technical issues. During final testing some critical issues related to navigation, tagging, and the structure of parent-child relationships were discovered.

The vendor is working to resolve these issues. We apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience.

While we're waiting to get started, please check out the resources and training on the support site. We'll keep you updated, in particular, we will communicate when we have a firm launch date.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact Pam Akins, Community Engagement Specialist, at alaconnectmigration@ala.org.

Getting Published

Interested in publishing, but are unsure of where to start?  ALCTS offers a wide variety of publications!

- ALCTS Newsletter Online (ANO)
- ALCTS Paper Series
- Library Resources & Technical Services (LRTS)
- Paper Series
- And more!

All of these can be found at: http://www.ala.org/alcts/resources.
Still unsure of where exactly you'd like to publish or even how to begin?  ANMIG would like to help!  We'd like to start a thread to help connect people with others who are interested in writing about a certain subject area or topic or for people who are looking to find a mentor to pursue publishing.  If you’d like to find a writing partner to collaborate with or are looking to find someone that can guide you through the publishing process, please comment on the thread below.  The ANMIG community is a wonderful place to start!

If there are any questions that you can’t find an answer to, the ANMIG officers will do their best to help guide you in the best direction.

Good luck and happy writing!

I would be most interested in collaborating with others towards writing about the transformations occurring in Technical Services departments. Other topics of interest: leadership in today's libraries, risk taking and innovating.

I'm a new grad interested in research and writing.  I work in Tech Services at  the University of Colorado Denver.   Writing about transformation in Technical Services sounds fascinating to me.  Here at UCD we have had a lot of changes in the TS department with more to come.  Duties have been transitioning and new positions created, because of the growth of eresources.

Conducting a content analysis of job postings in TS to identify what skills employers are looking for(especially related to eresouces) is topic I was considering.  Having a research/writing partner would be great.

Feel free to contact me at katy.divittorio@ucdenver.edu if you are interested in a research partner.  I'm open to other research topics if you have one.
