Fall Semester Check-In

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick email to check in and update you all on a few things.

First, hope the semester is going well for everyone.  If things have started to quiet down for you, it might be a good idea to start reviewing your pages again before Midwinter.  It will be here before you know it.

Second, it's up to us to schedule a time for the Midwinter meeting which will again be virtual.  I'll send another message sometime later this month to get the ball rolling.  I had one question about when our meeting time will be at Annual.  As long as I've been in IS, committees have met on Saturdays from 1:30-3:30.  There's no reason to expect there to be a change this time around, so if you need to plan, plan for that timeslot.  If you can't make it to the meeting, let me or Carol know.

Third, I made a change to the site yesterday.  Linguistics has been renamed Foreign Languages & ESL and has been moved from the social sciences category to the humanities category.  This change reflects decisions we made at Annual.

Lastly, I received an email from a librarian who is working as part of a team to develop information literacy standards for nursing.  She may be sending a draft of their standards for feedback.  Carol and I have agreed to have a look.  If anyone else wants to be part of that process, let me know.

If you have any questions, let me know, and good luck with your edits!

I would be interested in taking a look at that! :-)

Going to work on my pages this weekend, and while I won't physically be at Midwinter, I'll be able to attend virtually, with no problem. Also, excited to report that, as an ACRL-IS member, I just sumbitted a discussion group proposal for Annual. We'll see where that goes...
