Updated ECPS Committee Function Statement

Great news, everyone!

Melissa McBride from the Organization & Bylaws Committee e-mailed me a few weeks ago to say the motion for our updated function statement was approved in Anaheim with minor Board edits.  The updated statement includes a specific age range for the scope of our committee and the addition of broad language that addresses our efforts to keep the BTR Website, booklists, and other early literacy resources updated.

Here's how our updated function statement reads, with changes/additions highlighted in blue:

To identify and disseminate information on effective, cooperative, or innovative programs for young children to libraries, childcare providers, and community agencies serving young children (birth to 5). To develop training workshops on early childhood programs and services and present them at conferences and institutes and for other institutions serving youth. To update and develop ALSC resources with early literacy information. To cooperate as appropriate with other ALSC committees and other associations working with the young child to initiate activities and projects.
