ALA files amicus brief in Authors Guild v Hathi Trust case

Hello All,

ALA, along with ACRL, ARL, and EFF, has filed an amicus brief in suport of the defendants' motion for summary judgment in the Authors Guild v. Hathi Trust lawsuit.  For those not familiar with the case, it concerns Google's digitization of books owned by U.S. libraries, and the uses that Hathi Trust has made of those digital copies. The friends of the court brief argues that all uses fall within the Fair Use exception of the Copyright Act (section 107).

I couldn't find a link to the brief on the ALA site, but here is a link from EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation): https://www.eff.org/sites/default/files/filenode/HathiTrustAmicusBrief.pdf
