USBBY: Writing about War for Young People: Three Writers, Three Wars

Saturday, June 23, 2012
4:00 pm to 5:30 pm

US/Pacific (-7)

The United States Board on Books for Young People (USBBY) and the Association of Library Services to Children (ALSC) are pleased to present a panel of three outstanding authors whose books are set during three different wars—World War I, World War II, and the war in Afghanistan. Panel members Monkia Schroder, Ruta Sepetys, and Trent Reedy will relate the “stories behind the stories” of their books along with difficulties encountered in writing about this topic for young people. The audience will have an opportunity to ask questions of panel participants.
