Agenda for ALA Conference Committee in Anaheim

Dear Conference Committee:

I have attached the agenda for our meeting in Anaheim.  We will meet on Saturday, June 23  from 1:30-3:30 in the Hilton Anaheim / Salinas.  If you haven't already done so, please read the revised document  "Annual Conference 2013: ChangeRoadmap"  that Mary sent out on June 5th.  If you have thoughts or responses to add, please do so since that will advance our discussion in preparation for our meeting.  I am hoping that Scott and Mary will again (for one final time) team up to do our "Meeting Notes."  They have been so valuable in keeping the threads going in what has been a very busy and productive time for this committee.  It will help our new chair, Rose Dawson to have these in hand as she charts the future course.  Let me know if you would like to add something to the agenda.

Steve, I'll bring my "note taking device" and I hope Scott will also.

One piece of feedback I've gotten on the conferences in general has been a desire to make the conferences greener.  "Greening" has probably been happening as a matter of course, but it might be useful and educational for ALA members to see listings of what we have been doing and what things we can do in future to be more environmentally conscious. This could make members feel more positive about attending two conferences a year.

Mary,  As always, thanks for your role in helping us keep track of ourselves and our direction.  We have really moved forward in some exciting ways, and it is such a help to have the documentation of what we talked about and what we need to do. You and Scott have been crucial to our success.  And, we need to do regular checks to see what we can do to reduce the environmental impact of conference and become ever "Greener." THANKS!  Steve

I am goign to take a pass on the notetaking for minutes purposes, although i will take some notes.   I have back-to back conferences and two presentations in the coming weeks and just do not have any time to devote to this.

That's fine, Scott.  If you and Mary will take some notes, I will be responsible for putting them together so that we have a record to give to Rose Dawson as she takes over for 2012-13.

I totally missed the changed meeting time.  Don't we normally meet from 4 to 5?  Actually my total day has been a scheduling disaster. I also missed the NRMT,  right time wrong place. There were other problmes too.This is so unlike me - sorry!

The email I received about the NMRT meeting stated that the program was in the Hyatt, but as it turns out it was actually in the Marriott.  So i am not totally losing my mind.  I normally double check everything in the print program, and the one time I didn't....   Sigh!
