ACRL STS Virtual Participation Task Force (Science and Technology Section) [Committee]

The STS Virtual Participation Task Force has set the following expectations for anyone wishing to join an STS committee as a virtual member.  This information is current as of Summer 2011.

To be a virtual member of an STS committee, the following is required or recommended:

• access to and ability to use tools for virtual meetings, such as Skype, Google Docs, etc.
• a hardware setup that allows software to be downloaded and installed on the individual's computer
• determination to participate and the willingness to take initiative to find ways to contribute
• patience
• a sense of humor

It also helps to have a supportive IT department and the help of other librarians.
