    Hi, Everyone --

I'm happy to announce that we have a donor for National Gaming Day this year (preview), so I'm going to open registration and jumpstart the marketing. If you can help with the following activities, please let me know.

    1. Create a poster for this year's event (November 12) that libraries can print out and use
    2. Create new marketing materials - the ones we've recycled in the past could use some help (http://ngd.ala.org/library-press-kit/)
    3. Help run the @ngday Twitter account
    4. Help run a Facebook event page
    5. We're looking at running a couple of contests, one that I can't talk about just yet, and one for YouTube videos promoting gaming in libraries and NGD. If you're good at thinking up ideas for these kinds of things and coordinating them, we'd love your help.
    6. We've discussed creating some kind of a game every library could play for NGD, so if you're good at creating something like this, please raise your hand.
    7. Anything else you can think of to help take NGD up a notch this year

Eventually GameRT groups will take over many of these activities, but this year I need volunteers, especially since I'm behind in the schedule. I'll really need help marketing to both libraries and the public in order to increase our numbers from last year.

    Thanks!
    Jenny

    Jenny,

For now, I would definitely be able to help with running the @ngday Twitter account and a Facebook event page.  I don't know how much time I would have to do more, but if there is anything else I can do I would be more than happy to help out.

As always, I would be happy to help with PR/Graphics/PressKit Stuff.

I'd love to help in some way.  I'm spread pretty thin right now, but I could help with updating marketing materials, running the Twitter account or setting up/running the FB page.

Give me a mission and I shall duet!

I'd be willing to pitch in on games or contests - not sure I am up for doing it on my lonesome, but I'm a hell of a team player

I'd be willing to help with 5) or 6).  I'm with Kristin though... not sure I'd want to do it alone, but would do it with others!  :)

I'd be willing to help with the marketing campaigns.  I'll start reviewing and posting what I think might work.

Here is a flyer I worked up for Jenny earlier in the year for NGD 2011. Any thoughts on going forward with it for this year?

You all are awesome - thanks for stepping up!

It looks like we have the following volunteers by task:

I'll email each group separately, but please think about how you'd like to work together and start dreaming up ideas. :)
