2011 National Forum Planning Committee Report

The 2011 LITA National Forum will be in St. Louis this year, September 29 through October 2.

There will be two pre-conferences: one on cloud computing, the other on applying the Understanding by Design model (a model originally developed for educational planning) to technology planning. We'll also have 42 concurrent sessions for participants to choose from as well as a full roster of poster sessions.

New this year:

  • Sessions will be 50 minutes instead of 70 minutes.
  • We will offer a new attendees orientation immediately following the opening session.
  • The membership Q&A has been moved to Friday evening. (The Q&A was previously scheduled Friday morning, prior to the opening session.)
  • A "Risky Business" contest will allow attendees to vote for presentations, posters, and lightning talks that exhibit a high degree of experimentation and risk-taking.
