RUSA MARS / RSS Virtual Ref Comm hosting "Behind the Text" at ALA Annual

The RUSA MARS / RSS Virtual Reference Services Committee will be hosting ...

Behind the Text: Pulling Back the Curtain on Virtual Reference

at the ALA Annual Conference in New Orleans

Location:  Convention Center, Room 285

Description: Virtual reference (VR) is not just about technology. Although hardware and software play a pivotal role in these services, it is the human interaction, as with all reference transactions, that is what is most important. This panel presentation will put to rest some of the misconceptions about VR and examine those elements that contribute to positive experiences. Panelists will also discuss how to enhance virtual reference encounters and build communities through VR among both librarians and customers. Audience participation will be encouraged.
