GODORT Online Learning Task Force

Just FYI, Steering decided to establish this task force at Midwinter, and like many things it fell by the wayside because of my family issues over these last few months. Thanks to Kirsten, we are back on track with a fairly limited charge:
The GODORT Online Learning Task Force will explore opportunities for the delivery of e-forums, webinars, online courses, and recorded webcasts on government information topics of interest to the GODORT membership and the broader library community, and report their findings to GODORT Steering at ALA Annual in 2011. The limited brief of this Task Force is to determine the types of support for online learning that can be expected from ALA, and to propose an organizational structure within GODORT to nurture, approve, promote, and sustain the Round Table's educational offerings.  The information gathered by the Task Force should include, but is not limited to the following:

1. Use of the ALA Online Learning portal (http://www.ala.org/ala/onlinelearning)
2. ALA support for online registration, and payment (for fee-based online learning)
3. ALA support for hosting and preservation of educational content
4. Availability of ALA licensed learning technologies to create educational content

The Task Force will be chaired by the Assistant Chair of GODORT. Other members will include the chairs of GODORT Publications, Education, and GITCO committees or their designees, and the GODORT Treasurer.
