Madison Rally: Librarian View

Fox has been trying hard to paint those of us who rally at Wisconsin's State Capitol as "thugs" and "slobs" -- attempting to scare people into thinking we're about to riot. My husband, Richard Wambold (Bookmobile Librarian with Dane County Library Service) has been at the Capitol nearly every day these past 2 weeks and he has walked all around, and inside, the Capitol each day. He says that the protesters are passionate, but the mood is peaceful and upbeat, often festive. And that's what I've seen as well. I personally spoke with Madison Police Department spokesman, Joel DeSpain, who told me that the protest has been "very, very peaceful. We've been very pleased with the behavior of everyone involved."

UNBELIEVABLY, Bill O’Rielly talks about the rally while showing a rowdy disturbance clip. But look closely and you'll see palm trees in the background. PALM TREES! In Wisconsin. In winter. Really O’Rielly?!

His "correspondent" says, "I talked to someone from California." Um, yeah dude. Maybe because you were IN California at the time!
