Discussion topics continued from last meeting:

    • Next steps regarding the recruitment of new professionals.  Ideas proposed so far have included: Surveying which library schools, if any, offer entire courses on performing arts librarianship or as a component in existing classes, such as a special libraries overview; development of fact sheet for dance students in academic programs and dance schools, as well apprentices and professionals in dance companies with career transition programs.
    • Outlets for reviews of books and media.  Seek better representation for dance material in library literature – a review essay in Choice or C&RL News?  Should we begin bestowing our own DLDG “best of” awards?

New discussion topic: Ballet in popular culture

    • Ballet rarely registers in the mainstream media, but it is resurfacing in a big way as 2010 winds down. If there’s time, be prepared to dish about the well-reviewed Apollo’s Angels and the soon-to-be-released Black Swan.
