Online Doc Finalized draft submitted / Public Services in Archival Repositories and Special Collections Libraries

The SAA-ACRL/RBMS Joint Task Force on the Development of Standardized Statistical Measures for Public Services in Archival Repositories and Special Collections Libraries has submitted a finalized draft of its standard for review by the respective executive and standards committees of the Society of American Archivists and the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries.

The finalized draft, dated 9 June 2017, is attached here as a PDF document.

The SAA-ACRL/RBMS Joint Task Force on the Development of Standardized Statistical Measures for Public Services in Archival Repositories and Special Collections Libraries will devote its meeting at ALA Midwinter to public discussion of a revised draft of the new standard we have been charged with developing.

The revised draft will be posted for review by Wednesday, January 18, on the RBMS and SAA task force websites, superseding the preliminary drafts posted there presently. Further announcements and reminders to follow.

Those who cannot attend our task force meeting at Midwinter are encouraged to read the revised draft online and use the commenting features to submit feedback.

The Task Force meeting will be held on Saturday, June 25, 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM, in the HYATT Regency Orlando, Room Bayhill 29 (eventscribe: link)

Those who can attend the meeting are encouraged to download a PDF version of the document from the above page (also attached here) and bring a copy to the meeting.

Those who cannot attend are encouraged to read the document online and use the comment feature on the SAA website to submit feedback. The RBMS web team will also be exploring possibilities for mounting the draft document on a web-based annotation platform. The draft will be also be discussed at an open forum and meeting of the task force at the SAA Annual Meeting in Atlanta on August 4.
