ALA Connect User logins are disabled for a temporary "gray-out" period, to prevent new posts while we upgrade into the New Connect. This gray-out period will begin on March 26th, and the new site will be launched on April 25th.

Users can use Search to view public content. Logins will be reinstated and users can create new posts, upload files, etc. post launch.

Division Membership Working Group Community

Charge:
To improve the recruitment, retention, and engagement of ALA members. The group will develop and recommend to division EDs a prioritized list of action items that will better coordinate ALA's membership efforts and improve the membership experience.

Membership composition: one representative from each division that would like to participate and the ALA Membership Director (ex-officio)

  • Suggested areas of focus could include:
  • Recommendations for membership renewals;
  • Recommendations for membership communications upon joining, renewing, lapsing, and general participation;
  • Recommendation for reports needed to manage membership;
  • Determine Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) needed in a membership data dashboard;
  • Develop a strong value proposition for membership in ALA and its divisions;
  • Best practices for engaging membership in using the new ALA Connect for non-governance interaction;
  • Best practices for engaging members via Informz and coordinating messaging so as not to overwhelm members with too many messages.
